Alcohol management:

Moderation or Elimination

Alcohol Management is the most common Substance Use problem encountered at GP Hypnosis. Are you wanting to moderate your drinking or you are facing something more severe? Whether it's excessive binge drinking, using alcohol to socialize, or a habitual pattern of having a glass of wine or beer with dinner, we offer assistance in various ways.

Since 2012 our clients have had successful experiences by effectively managing their alcohol-related issues. Many satisfied clients have opted for Hypnosis, finding success in either reducing or entirely eliminating their alcohol usage.

It’s important to be committed to the process and so clients are required to commit to the 4 session package for most addiction issues. It is possible that more sessions may be needed but for most people 4 is sufficient. You can find rates information here.

What to expect in our sessions…

The average number of sessions for most people to see the changes that they want are 3-5 sessions.

The initial step in our program involves learning mindful drinking habits. As you gradually reduce your alcohol intake, we aim to minimize its physical impact. Additionally, we've found that a significant number of individuals who misuse alcohol often do so for various reasons—whether as a means of escape, for social reasons, or as a sleep aid. Our program addresses these underlying reasons to diminish their influence, making alcohol use less compulsive and more manageable within predetermined limits.

Regaining a sense of control is a fundamental aspect of our collaborative effort. We'll start by creating a personalized plan, incorporating strategies such as gradual reduction to moderate or eliminate your alcohol usage. While some techniques may seem straightforward, our successful track record attests to their efficacy. The process begins with a counseling-style discussion in each session, followed by hypnosis to reinforce positive changes. Many clients find the process surprisingly easier than previous attempts, expressing satisfaction in the reduced frequency of thoughts about alcohol. It becomes a past behavior rather than a constant preoccupation.

Here are some points to consider regarding the potential use of hypnosis for alcohol moderation:

  1. Behavioral Modification: Hypnosis aims to influence behaviors by tapping into the subconscious mind. For alcohol management, hypnosis sessions may focus on altering thought patterns and attitudes related to drinking, encouraging responsible consumption or elimination.

  2. Triggers and Coping Strategies: Hypnotherapy sessions help individuals identify triggers that lead to excessive drinking and develop healthier coping strategies. By addressing the underlying factors, hypnosis assists in breaking the cycle of unwanted drinking patterns

  3. Stress Reduction: Hypnosis is known for its stress-reducing effects. Since stress is often linked to alcohol misuse, hypnotherapy helps individuals manage stress more effectively, reducing the desire to turn to alcohol as a stress-relief mechanism.

  4. Empowering Self-Control: Hypnosis is utilized to enhance self-control and reinforce the individual's ability to make conscious and healthy choices regarding alcohol consumption. Strengthening willpower and promoting a sense of empowerment are key aspects of this approach.
